Anders Rowe will be hoping to make the sparse 2020 British season a double success for Somerset Speedway and follow in the footsteps of his Rebels' teammate Rory Schlein and lift a national title on Wednesday night.

Rowe is preparing for his second British meeting of the season as he heads for Berwick to compete in the ATPI British U21 final. Last month Somerset skipper Rory Schlein was crowned British senior champion at Belle Vue.

Eighteen year old Rowe has just completed his debut term in Poland, riding for second division side Rawicz. He made nine appearances for the western Poland club, taking 38 rides and returning 36 points from his three wins, eight second places and eleven third places but more importantly it was an opportunity for him to gain valuable racing experience outside of the country.

Wednesday's meeting will produce a new winner after being dominated in the past three seasons by GB International and European Champion Robert Lambert, with Rowe facing stern competition from two riders that joined Lambert in Team GB's Monster Energy Speedway of Nations bid last weekend, Dan Bewley and Drew Kemp.

Anders will also be in action against fellow GB Academy riders Leon Flint, Kyle Bickley, Jordan Palin, Jason Edwards, together with Tom Brennan, whilst newly crowned British Youth Champion Dan Thompson and his brother Joe will both be making their debuts in the competition.

The meeting will be staged behind closed doors due to restrictions imposed by the prevalance of Covid-19, but Berwick speedway will be hosting a Pay what you like Pay Per View’ concept on their BanditsTV YouTube channel, with further details available https://www.berwickspeedway.com/news/under-21-update/
