BATTLING BEARS MAKE LIFE TOUGH FOR 2016 REBELS

Sunday August 23, 2020
It is not often in sport when teams at the opposite ends of the league table find themselves evenly matched and produce a tense and exciting fair, but when Redcar visited the Oaktree Arena on June 3rd 2016, such an encounter ensued.

High flying Somerset, in second place in the table were nine points wealthier than the Redcar Bears from one fewer meetings and had suffered just one defeat all season at that stage, but had to take to track for this clash without both Jake Allen and Zach Wajtknecht due to their involvement in a World U21 semi-final meeting in Denmark, an event that had also prevented the Bears' number one Lasse Bjerre from appearing.
Former Rebel Ollie Greenwood stepped in for the Englishman whilst rider replacement operated for Allen's rides, whilst Redcar secured the services of Stuart Robson. 'Robbo' was a Rye House Rocket and as such had figured in the Rebels' only defeat over the first three months of the season.

This coming Tuesday, August 25th, through the good offices of ReRun Productions and Speedway Portal this enthralling can be enjoyed again, heat by heat , generating all the tension and excitement that a memorable speedway meeting produces.

The Premiere showing goes live at 7.30pm, just follow the link below:
