Somerset 'Cases' Rebels matched their highest meeting score of 72 points on this very day in 2014.

A demolition job of the Rye House Rockets in the Premier league saw the Rebels record twelve maximum heat advantages as Brady Kurtz, Oliver Allen, Nick Morris, Pontus Aspgren and Paul Starke were all unbeaten by an opponent in their combined 22 rides. The final eight heats were all celebrated with home riders crossing the line in first and second places and in the three heats that Somerset failed to max out, they still managed to avoid any last places.

Despite those highly impressive statistics, the Rebels who were making their first track appearance since Kurtz, Morris, Allen, Aspgren and, as reserve, Charles Wright, had been crowned Premier League Fours Champions, still had to work for many of their points. Jason Garrity proved to be a stubborn opponent.

Throughout though, Brady Kurtz seemed intent on threatening Leigh Adams' long-stranding track record (at the time) posting winning times of 56.56 (just half a second outside his compatriot's 56.06 time of March 2007), 56.81, 56.93 before slowing to 57.75 and 58.12.

Somerset 72 - N.Morris 11+1 (3,3,3,2'); C.Wright 7+3 (2',1,2',2'); B.Kurtz 15 (3,3,3,3,3); P.Aspgren 11+4 (2',2',2',3,2'); O.Allen 12 (3,3,3,3); T.Kurtz 6+2 (1,1,2',2'); P.Starke 10+2 (3,2',3,2')
Rye House 20 - L.Bowen 2 (1,1,0,R,R); S.Boxall 0 (0,0,0,0,0); J.Garrity 6 (1,0,2,1,1,1); A.Mellgren 5 (R,2,1,1,1,R); O.Greenwood 3 (2,0,0,1); J.Bunyan 2 (0,1,1,0)
