With the Somerset 'Cases' Rebels press and practice day just two weeks away, two of the 2020 Rebels will have some early competitive action on Saturday (March 14th) as the British racing season kicks off with the BEN FUND BONANZA meeting at Scunthorpe.

Ben Barker and Anders Rowe will be taking their place in the sixteen-strong field that gets underway at 2pm, Barker having been a consistent in this charity meeting.

Barker, returning as a Rebel for the first time since 2006 admitted "It goes without saying, as far as I am concerned that I will be up for riding in this meeting. The BEN FUND does such a great job for riders and riders' families when the going gets tough. Its not just when a rider is injured that they are there to support, they offer so much more. For me, it is important that us riders support this event, the organisers really don't need to ask me to ride they can take it as a given that I will be there for them."

Rowe who along with his SGB Championship duties with the Rebels will be stepping up to the Premiership with Swindon this season will be making his debut appearance in the BONANZA meeting

James Wright, Aaron Summers, Ben Barker, Steve Worrall, Danny King, Lewis Kerr, Tom Bacon, Josh Auty, Paul Starke, Tero Aarnio, Thomas Jorgensen, Connor Mountain, Andreas Jensen, Anders Rowe, Simon Lambert, Kasper Andersen

Meanwhile, 2019 Rebel Valentin Grobauer will be returning to British Speedway this season, having been signed by Birmingham as a replacement for Tomas H Jonasson who is encountering a clash of fixtures following a change of race night imposed by his Swedish club Valsarna.
Grobauer made 19 appearances for Somerset in his debut British season, the penultimate one being at Birmingham on July 24th when he scored 7 from four rides, much improved from his visit there in April when he returned 3 from 4..
