REBELS' new recruit, Australian Zach Cook claimed second place in this year's Australian U21 National Championship on Saturday night at Undera, Victoria.

The title was claimed by Jaimon Lidsey who, maximum man Cook outpointed by one point following his heat 20 triumphant ride when the two clashed. But with the title being decided through an A final that featured the top three highest qualifying scores and the winner of the 'B' final, reserved for riders finishing fourth to seventh, Lidsey (who will be riding for Premiership club Belle Vue this season) reversed the positions from their earlier clash to be crowned champion. Jedd List (13 points) took the final rostrum spot with B final qualifier Matthew Gilmore (10 points) finishing fourth.

Somerset Speedway extends their congratulations to Zach.
