CAPTAIN CHRIS HEADS INTO CHALLENGE

Sunday June 09, 2019

Harris, who sensationally won the British GP in 2007, was last in the troupe in 2016 but his 13 point haul in Lamonthe Landerron routes him into the GP Challenge which will be held in Gorican, Croatia on August 24th, a track that has served Bomber well in the past, and where the top three finishers will earn the right to their place in the 2020 Grand Prix series.

Harris was outscored in the qualifier by home favourite David Bellego but with four places from each of the four qualifying rounds being staged across this weekend up for grabs, Harris can now start planning for the very tough looking Challenge.

His 2019 Rebels' team-mate Nico Covatti just missed out on making it through after scoring 11 points in the Glasgow-staged round. GB's Robert Lambert took the fourth qualifying place there with a tally of 12 points.

Wednesday night's special guest in the Somerset Select v Plymouth South-Western Challenge meeting, Nicolas Vicentin, was also competing in the qualifiers but the 25 year old Italian failed to score in the French-staged round. On Monday Valentin Grobauer is the appointed reserve for the fourth and final round in Abensberg, Germany
