With the advent of the Whitsun holidays and no midweek rush to get the kids ready for school the next day, this week is the ideal opportunity to take in some exciting speedway action at the Oaktree Arena on Wednesday evening, taking advantage of our Kids Go Free scheme.

The Rebels will be shaping up against Scunthorpe and with Chris Harris unavailable due to a world longtrack championship engagement the Rebels have moved to bring in Charles Wright for a one-night only appearance back in Rebels' colours. Wright will be joined by fellow guest Jordan Jenkins who deputises for the injured Henry Atkins.

Team manager Garry May explains "To find a suitable replacement for Bomber was no easy task although I believe that the rider selected is more than capable of delivering the goods and is as popular here as Chris is turning out to be. Throughout the season I have continually been asked as to why we missed out on Charles Wright, but quite simply he considered that the overall offer from Redcar was better for him, mainly due to the reduced travelling each week.
But when I asked him to come and guest for us he absolutely had no hesitation and it will be good to work with him again.
Having already won at Scunthorpe this season I expect many fans will be thinking this will be a shoe-in result, but let me just remind everyone that this is sport and anything can happen, just take a
look at some of the sporting headlines that have been made this month so we will not be going into the meeting with thinking it is a foregone conclusion. No, we will give Scunthorpe the respect that they deserve."

Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock adds "with it being the school holidays I am hoping that the weather will be good to us and families can take full advantage of our Under 16s offer of Free admission. It would be nice to have a good attendance to support the team, especially as there will be no racing next week."
