Fans attending Wednesday night's curtain raiser 20th Anniversary Meeting against Poole on Wednesday who are memorabilia collectors are recommended to make a point of visiting the Track Shop.

SREF organiser Di Phillips took a delivery of Speedway Books and framed pictures from Ann Carrick who is the niece of Arthur Rawbone.

Described by Di as "a lovely guy and cheeky with it" Arthur was an avid Rebels fan, a regular on the coach trips to away meetings but sadly he recently passed away.

Di explained "It was very sad to learn that Arthur was no longer with us but he had a good collection of books and pictures and recently Ann, together with Roy Farrow took the trouble to deliver to my home his collection so that we could raise money for the SREF fund. This is a fabulous gesture and I know that Arthur will be smiling down on us every time we sell a book or framed picture, knowing that he is still doing his bit for his beloved Rebels."

Supporters are also reminded that it will be their very final last chance to purchase tickets for the club's 20th Anniversary Dinner which is being held in the clubhouse on Saturday. Priced £30 per head tickets for the event, which takes the form of a two-course dinner, entertainment from Kelvin Tatum M.B.E. and Nigel Pearson, interviews with club favourites across the years, together with a special raffle with top prizes being a Season Ticket, replica Rebels clothing and other prizes. There will also be an auction for signed race jackets from Wednesday's meeting.
